UPLANDS CHAMBER PLAYERS Editor: Nancy Nourse
Date: March 15, 2012 Region: Sherbrooke
The Uplands Chamber Players will be performing a wonderful, exclusively Schubert program on Saturday March 17th, in Lennoxville. In celebration of the works created by Franz Schubert, sounds of "Schubertiade" will fill the air at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (8p.m.). On this special occasion, pianist Daniella Bernstein will be joining pianist Cheryl Stroud, clarinetist Pauline Farrugia and cellist Erich Kory for this production of rarely performed pieces.
For your added pleasure, pianist Cheryl Stroud unveils her talents as a singer interpreting several pieces for voice, clarinet and piano. The evening performance will be comprised of two trios for voice, clarinet and piano (including the well-known piece "le pâtre sur le rocher", two marches characteristically for piano, with four hands, and the celebrated piano trio in B-flat (D. 898 opus 99) in which the clarinet replaces the violin (arrangement by Cheryl Stroud).
This evening will undoubtedly be a very special event. Reservations are strongly suggested. Tickets are $12 / adults; $8 / students and those 60 years and older.
